A room full of people, a room full of wood, a room full of sculptures, a room full of trees Vol. I
I explore the relationship between humans and nature through thinkers and philosophers working in the fields of botany, science, ecology and the arts who address the issue of isolation and identify it as a cause of the current climate crisis.
I see my family tradition of carving as a personal analogy to this human isolation, from which I feel in the same sense separated, but concurrently fundamentally shaped by it.
The installation is an image of groping, broken ties and a deep-seated uncertainty for roots and the meaning of existence, while at the same time seeking for certain rules in the process of material decaying symbolizing a deep connection with our roots.
